Healthy Habits
Fiber and Blood Sugar
Fiber can change digestion and the rate at which carbohydrate is absorbed, but food context and fiber type matter.
Health note: This page is educational and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent disease. Supplements can interact with medicines and may not be appropriate for everyone. If you use glucose-lowering medication, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have a medical condition, discuss supplements with a qualified health professional.
Fiber is not one thing
Soluble, viscous and fermentable fibers have different properties. Whole-food sources also provide nutrients beyond isolated fiber.
Build meals, not miracle claims
Focus on sustainable dietary patterns rather than expecting a single ingredient to control glucose on its own.
