Cinnamon and Blood Sugar: What Research Says
Cinnamon is heavily marketed for blood sugar, but NCCIH says research does not clearly support its use for any health condition.
Health note: This page is educational and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent disease. Supplements can interact with medicines and may not be appropriate for everyone. If you use glucose-lowering medication, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have a medical condition, discuss supplements with a qualified health professional.
The evidence is difficult to interpret
NCCIH notes that cinnamon studies vary in species and plant part, making results difficult to compare. It says it remains unclear whether cinnamon supplementation is helpful for diabetes or weight loss.
Cassia vs Ceylon
Different cinnamon species are not interchangeable. BloodArmor's merchant page currently identifies its ingredient as cassia cinnamon.
Safety context
Cinnamon in normal food amounts is generally different from concentrated supplement use. Supplement dose, duration and coumarin exposure can matter depending on the product.
